Hi! I’m Jason…
I’m an award-winning videographer, photographer, and storyteller with more than 17 years of experience creating visual media in some of the most demanding environments.
I found a love for TV and movies at a young age checking out every VHS that my small town Indiana movie store had in stock.
My career began in military public affairs, where I learned to tell compelling stories quickly, accurately, and with a strong sense of purpose. As a photographer and videographer with the Washington Army National Guard, I documented training exercises, international missions, government events, and significant geopolitical moments across the United States and abroad. I’ve worked in environments ranging from fast-paced news and military operations to international events where cultural awareness, discretion, and attention to detail were essential.
Beyond the camera, I’ve led teams, trained fellow creators, managed complex projects, selected and implemented new production technology, and guided projects from concept through final delivery. I’m comfortable working independently or as part of a creative team, and I thrive when the circumstances are challenging and the story matters.
My work combines technical expertise with a journalist’s instinct for finding the human story. I work across photography, videography, editing, and visual storytelling, with extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci Resolve, DSLR and professional video equipment, and emerging mobile production tools.
After retiring from the Army National Guard as a Sergeant First Class, I’m continuing to build on that experience through my studies at the University of Washington Tacoma, where I’m pursuing a BA in Arts, Media and Culture with a focus on Film. After graduating in Dec 2026 I’m hoping to enroll in an MFA program for editing in 2027.
I currently live in Tacoma, Washington (relocating to Los Angeles in Summer 2027) with wife, Sarah, and our cat Penny.
Whether I’m documenting a major event, capturing an individual story, or building a project from the ground up, my goal is simple: create visual work that connects with people and entertains them
